In 2019 Alyson Lescht, completed her Mindful Teacher Certification with The Mindful Schools Organization. She has been integrating this practice into Trillium's daily routine during normal, in-person school time and now, online, during virtual school time.
Students focus on:
Mindful Body Awareness, Mindful Listening, Mindful Breathing, Heartfulness & Compassion: Sending Kind Thoughts, Gratitude and Generosity, and Mindful Exercise.
"Mindfulness is noticing what is happening in the present moment. Mindfulness is taking notice of how your body feels and what you see, smell and taste. Mindfulness is also noticing what your mind is doing. I am excited to share these tools with our school community, to help our students fend off negative thoughts and behaviors, build self-confidence, focus, and treat others and themselves with respect and appreciation. A Mindfulness Practice is a gift they will have for the rest of their lives." ~ Alyson Lescht
